About the Surrey City Orchestra
Surrey City Orchestra:
Surrey City Orchestra is a professional orchestra that is now celebrating its inaugural season, 2019/2020.
Based in the City of Surrey, the orchestra features professional musicians who call Surrey home, as well as promoting cross-cultural collaborations through music. Led by conductor Stuart Martin, the Surrey City Orchestra has already performed for the SFU President’s Annual Gala, performed alongside Grammy Award winner Ricky Kej at the 2018 Surrey Fusion Festival, celebrated Arts4All’s recognition of Surrey’s 25th anniversary, presented two Messiah concerts, hosted an evening of Jazz and Strings in May 2019 with the Miles Black Trio performing arrangements prepared by Surrey’s own Harold Birston, and Goh’s Nutcracker featuring Surrey dance troupes and the Surrey Children’s Choir.
Our main event planned for the spring of 2020 is a special production of The Best of Bollywood, an exciting cross-cultural collaboration or Eastern and Western art forms. We also have a number of smaller events planned, so come back to see when and where you will be able to find us!
